i like
how in america (or is it anglo-saxonia in general?) every person is addressed with his or her proper title. i noticed that during the 2008 primaries, when american newspapers were always talking at least about “mr. obama” or “mrs. clinton”, if not even “senator obama” and “governor clinton”. and today i read an interview with mr. steven cherundolo in the FAZ, were he kept saying “trainer slomka” (“coach slomka”).
it is very gentleman like and not as obedient as “sir”. americans can be so civil sometimes. and while i’m at it: the political debate in the US might be vicious, but when people are face to face they’re (mostly) still polite, able to calm their temper and have a more or less civil exchange of opinions.
